I started working on pools around 1976.  I started with a commercial pool that my father owned at a country club in New Mexico.  Over the years I continued to teach myself and document things that worked as well as things that did not.  Since there are so many views on pool and spa maintenance, I had to choose the path that I prefer.  My path is simply I am in the fun business.  I provide safe, clean entertainment for the pool and spa owner.  I not only look after the health and safety factors of the homeowner, but the equipment as well.  The sound of happy children playing in a pool that does not irritate them and is free from bacteria and other contaminants is a very rewarding thing for me.  For spa owners, the relief of everyday stress can actually make you live longer and enjoy life to the fullest.  My new spa book that is coming out will also include many of these therapies and include some great pics of some of the best spas in the country. 

We would like to announce the newest event in the Hardy family.  We have opened up our own publishing company called New Frontier Publishing, LLC.  The company will produce books that continue with the tradition of Dan's sharing of information and some new material.  Dan is currently working on several fiction books which Atlantic Publishing does not do.  Dan's hope is that the entire family can participate in this endevor and let Dan take some needed time off and enjoy life.  He has not taken a vacation in over 23 years.  His customers always came first.  Getting him away from his pools, as he refers to them, may be the problem. However his oldest son who is a local police officer said handcuffing and kidnapping may be the key to getting him out of town.
